June 1992 - Feb 1998 Pacific Systems International (Previously Pacific Associates)

Job Title: Senior Technical Consultant

While working for Pacific, my clients have included : SSA, SK Beechams, MK Electric, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis (Ciba Geigy), Nokia, CIC video, Jamont UK, Mallinkrodt Veterinary, BBA Friction, Dentsply International, Bristol Myers Squibb. I have worked at client sites both in the UK and abroad (France, Germany, Poland, Norway, Switzerland, Belgium and Spain) in various roles, including BPCS consultant, Business Analyst, team leader/project manager, analyst programmer and helpdesk support. My early work included design, coding and testing, user liaison and customer support. Sometimes as part of a development team, others as a single resource onsite. Normally I worked on a T&M basis, but more than once on fixed price projects. Later my work included more project management, team leading and consultancy.

Projects included:

· migration of a V3.0.02 Distribution and Financials implementation to 4.0.5 CD.
Mainly a Y2K conversion with around seventy client specific modifications to migrate. This role was a combination of project management, business to technical liaison, BPCS analyst. I produced around sixty unit test plans, a Key Business process overview and the main system test plan. The coding of the conversion has been contracted out to a third party without any BPCS knowledge, so the requirements need to be clear for non-BPCS programmers. The company is international/global, with the US division giving guidelines for a European implementation. Working on the pilot site, with much board level involvement.
· a major implementation of BPCS version 6
Including project managing, team leading, client contact, functional/technical analysis, programming, testing/QA and data migration. This role involved at lot of interpretation of client business needs and working in conjunction with other software houses, such as SSA.
· Conversion of V4 and V6 of CDM module to work with V5 of BPCS, to be Y2K compliant.
(Direct with SSA for V5 client) Role included BPCS consultancy, technical lead, Code/Test and UNIX conversion.

I have worked mostly within the BPCS environment, mainly Distribution and Manufacturing modules. I also have experience of Financials, including CEA. I have also enhanced and supported Pacific's retail system, PARIS, and various client bespoke BPCS systems. Most notably, two client server projects, both designed by Pacific :
· design, code and test, client support and project management of a Gupta SQL system
A distributed planning system, allowing sites to send forecasts, orders and POD to factory/facilities.
· Project Manager/Team Leader on a visual basic system
Designed to enhance BPCS manufacturing for a specific complex product manufacturing cycle.
During my time at Pacific, I had to produce documentation to BS5750 standards. Working on SSA projects has also required use of the BASIS methodology and SDM documentation standards.

July 1991 - May 1992 Cilag Pharmaceuticals Limited

Job Title: Programmer

I worked as a programmer and also covered basic operations and helpdesk (including AS/400, PC and general application support) for a short period. I gained my first experience of BPCS, and designed an executive information front end for the sales history module. This included table and graphical representations of Sales data, selected using a flexible query. My most notable achievement was to design, code and implement a fleet management system - this included Feasibility study, Business design, program designs, system testing, user education and support.
